About

We have been organizing as a formalized group for just over a year, and we have already made great strides. As a collective, we have advocated for more opportunities for employees interested in advancing their careers, hands-on self defense training, better healthcare, and more. With a formal structure in place, we can continue to advocate for safety, sustainability, and transparency.

PPLWU was formed by your coworkers across the entire Pikes Peak Library District region. We have contacts and members from nearly every department. In the past, there have been several disparate movements across the district. This is our first unified attempt, and we are proud to stand together, and are ready to collaborate with leadership. The words you see on the demands and mission statement, as well as every other piece of this website, were written by a PPLD worker. We are by workers and for workers.

Our local is made up of the Defenders Union of Colorado, United Campus Workers Colorado, UC Health Workers United, Denver Health Workers United, and Denver Public Library Workers United. We are all public workers pushing for bargaining rights in Colorado and we are stronger in our unity.
